How to make a DIY phone case

This is the simplest way to make a DIY phone case:

  • Collect the necessary materials
  • Choose your design
  • Prep your phone case
  • Apply glue and allow to dry
  • Colour the circle
  • Cut the balloon
  • Fill the balloon
  • Finishing touches

Collect the necessary materials

This is what you’ll need:

  • A plain phone case that fits your phone model or in one colur
  • Craft scissors
  • Craft glue
  • Sandpaper (fine-grit) or slime
  • Beads, buttons, or small toys (optional)
  • Acrylic paint and paintbrushes (optional)
  • A heat gun (optional)

Choose your design

Decide on the design for your anti-stress phone case. You can create a tactile surface by adding raised shapes or patterns, or you can go for a themed design that’s visually calming. Sketch your design on paper if needed.

Prep your phone case

Clean your phone case to ensure it’s free from dirt and dust. If your phone case has a glossy finish, you can lightly sand it with fine-grit sandpaper to help the foam adhere better. Wipe off any dust with a clean cloth.

Apply glue and allow to dry

step 1

Use craft glue to create a wide circle. Let the glued area dry completely, which may take up to a few hours, depending on the glue type and conditions.

Colour the circle

step 2

Color the circle white or any color you wish. I decided to paint it white because on the end I wanna have an egg-shaped accessorize as a stress releaser.

Cut the balloon

step 3

Cut the balloon into two pieces as shown in the picture. Use scissors and be careful.

Fill the balloon

step 4

Use the bottom part of the balloon to fill it with whatever you like (slime, sandpaper).

Finishing touches

Glue the balloon into the white circle. Wait to dry a few hours.

Personal experience

During the process of making my DIY anti-stress phone case, I experienced a mix of excitement, creativity, and a bit of frustration.

One of the most enjoyable aspects was the sheer creativity involved. I had the freedom to choose colors, textures, and materials that I found visually appealing and comforting.

It was challenging to wait for the for the glue to dry. It required patience, and I was eager to see the finished anti-stress phone case. I also had to be careful not to rush the process and accidentally touch and paint while it was still soft.

In the end, despite these challenges, I was thrilled with the result. My DIY anti-stress phone case not only looked beautiful but also served as a stress-relieving tool that I could carry with me daily. It was a project that allowed me to express my creativity and provided a tangible sense of relaxation every time I used my phone.
