Basics

These are some of the basics you should know to better understand the Rogue Front Pocket wallet.

How to use the Rogue Front Pocket wallet?

Using the Rogue Front Pocket wallet is exactly the same as using a traditional wallet.

The first thing you need to do is place all your cards in the interior card slots. Depending on the design you choose you will have to place your cards in 6 different card slots or 3 card slots and an ID window.

The next step is to gather your cash bills and place them in the top pocket.

Patented design

Rogue Front Pocket wallet smart design explained

The Rogue Front Pocket wallet has a patented design that is very different from other minimalist wallets. The reason why it’s rounded is that this way it would fit perfectly in the front pocket of your pants.

The idea for this design has been inspired by the fact that carrying a bulky wallet in your back pocket can be troublesome for your back. Even when you carry your wallet in your front pocket it can sometimes get uncomfortable. That is why this design is literally made for someone who regularly carries their wallet in their front pocket.

Aesthetics

The Rogue Front Pocket wallet has a very distinctive design which sets it apart from other minimalist wallets. As one of the rare minimalist wallets with a rounded profile, it’s almost guaranteed to catch anyone’s eye. This particular shape was chosen to best fit with the shape of your front pocket.

Design

There are two different Rogue Front Pocket wallet design options you can choose from:

  • Rogue Front Pocket wallet with 6 card slots
  • Rogue Front Pocket wallet with 3 card slots and an ID window

The main difference between these two designs is the right interior side of the wallet. In the Rogue Front Pocket wallet with 6 card slots, the right side has 3 card slots, while the Rogue Front Pocket wallet with 3 card slots and an ID window obviously has an ID window there.

The rest of the wallet is basically the same in both options. On the left interior side, there are three card slots, and on top of the wallet, there is a pocket where you can keep your cash bills.

Colors

The Rogue Front Pocket wallet is only available in black or bourbon. Both of these colors are neutral and go great with pretty much everything. Personally, I think that the bourbon color suits this particular wallet design best.

Materials

This minimalist wallet is mainly made out of premium top grain leather. It is the second-highest quality leather, which is still very durable and passes the test of time with flying colors. The wallet, while probably not exactly top-quality, is still one of the few very good leather wallets.

Clothing style fit

The two available colors for the Rogue Front Pocket wallet make it easy to pair with just about anything. Both of them are neutral and elegant, so they would go well with both formal and informal clothing.

Features

Rogue Front Pocket wallet with ID window and 3 card slots

The Rogue Front Pocket is a fairly simple minimalist wallet. These are some of the features you should know about it.

Weight, size, dimensions

The dimensions of the Rogue Front Pocket are:

  • height: 5 in / 12.7 cm
  • width: 3.4 in / 8.64 cm
  • depth: 0.25 in / 0.63 cm

With such a thin depth, this is one of the slimmest wallets available now.

This wallet only weighs 1.4 oz / 39.69 g, which is less than what most minimalist wallets weigh.

RFID blocking

RFID blocking is a function that wallets have in order to protect the valuable information on your cards. If you are afraid that someone might try to steal your information, you should consider a wallet with RFID protection.

Just like a large number of minimalist wallets currently available, the Rogue Front Pocket wallet also has RFID protection.

When it comes to this function, the Rogue Front Pocket wallet does a good job. All of the cards are placed inside the wallet so they are well protected.

How many cards can the Rogue Front Pocket wallet hold?

The number of cards that this wallet can hold depends on the type of design you will choose. If you choose the Rogue Front Pocket wallet with 6 available card slots then your wallet will be able to handle up to 12 cards. However, if you go for the design that has 3 card slots and an ID window, then the maximum number of cards you will be able to fit in is 6.

How much cash can the Rogue Front Pocket wallet hold?

The Rogue Front Pocket wallet can comfortably hold 3 cash bills without getting bulky. All the cash bills go in a pocket so there is space to place more of them in here. Just keep in mind that the more cash bills you place in your, wallet the bulkier it will get.

Water resistance

This minimalist wallet has good water protection since top grain leather is made out of the strongest parts of the animal hide. All of the cards are well fitted inside the wallet, so they will be at least somewhat protected if the wallet comes into contact with water. If a significant amount of water gets splashed on the wallet, some of it might get inside the cash pocket, since it’s an open pocket on top of the wallet. However, small amounts of water are no trouble for the Rogue Front Pocket wallet.

Customer satisfaction

Rogue Front Pocket wallet placed in pocket

A lot of owners have left reviews about the Rogue Front Pocket wallet, and most of them are positive. These are some of the most important things that owners say about this wallet.

Positive reviews

A lot of leather minimalist wallets have trouble with tearing and scratches since leather is less durable than other materials used to make minimalist wallets. Compared to them, the Rogue Front Pocket wallet is much stronger and passes the test of time, and owners are satisfied by its durability.

One major issue that wallets have is that when you carry them in your back pocket, they can cause harm to your back. The specific patented design of the Rogue Front Pocket wallet will not cause that problem. It’s specially made to fit perfectly in your front pocket, so you can comfortably carry it and avoid back pain.

On top of being comfortable, the design of this wallet is also perfect for areas that have a lot of pickpockets. It’s a lot harder for thieves to take your wallet from your front pocket than from your back pocket.

This wallet fits everything you will need to carry daily. It offers decent storage space, while still maintaining its minimalist function by not having way too many card slots and pockets that you can fill.

The Rogue Front Pocket wallet offers a lot of functionalities for a low price. It’s one of the coolest leather minimalist wallets you will currently find, and that’s something that most owners agree upon.

Known issues and problems

The leather can get stiff and dry, and if this happens you can apply a coat of leather honey on the leather. If you prefer a minimalist wallet that doesn’t use leather in its design at all, you should check out the Ridge Forged Ember.

The wallet isn’t small despite the shape it has, so it isn’t very good for small people. Despite it being made to fit perfectly in your front pocket, it still has standard dimensions, so if your front pocket is smaller, this function won’t even work. If you are looking for a smaller wallet, you should consider something like the Bellroy Slim Sleeve.

It is a little troublesome that you have to loosen up the card slots before you can carry two cards in one card slot comfortably. If you don’t do this it will be hard to place all the cards you need in the available card slots.

The unique shape means that you have to be careful every time you place your wallet in your pants. If you place it the wrong way, it would just be uncomfortable to carry it. If you want a more straightforward wallet, you should check out the Bellroy Hide & Seek.

How does the Rogue Front Pocket wallet compare to other minimalist wallets?

With so many minimalist wallet options available, it can get tricky to choose the one that’s perfect for you. Here are some comparisons to better show you how the Rogue Front Pocket wallet compares to other minimalist wallets.

The Rogue Front Pocket wallet vs Bellroy Slim Sleeve wallet

These two wallets are pretty similar, they are both made out of leather and have a similar aesthetic to a traditional leather wallet.

The Bellroy Slim Sleeve wallet is more expensive but can hold fewer cards than the Rogue Front Pocket wallet.

Both of these are RFID-blocking wallets and have some water resistance.

When it comes to dimensions the Rogue Front Pocket wallet is bigger.

The warranty for the Bellroy Slim Sleeve wallet is 3 years, while the warranty for the Rogue Front Pocket wallet is 2 years.

If you want a smaller wallet and are prepared to sacrifice some card capacity for it, then you should read my full Bellroy Slim Sleeve review.

The Rogue Front Pocket wallet vs Ridge Forged Ember wallet

These two wallets are very different from each other. The Rogue Front Pocket wallet is a leather minimalist wallet with an aesthetic similar to a traditional wallet. The Ridge Forged Ember, however, is made out of carbon, and it also has a cash strap and a money clip.

The Ridge Forged Ember wallet is a lot more expensive, but it can still hold the same amount of cards as the Rogue Front Pocket wallet, although it can hold more cash than it.

Both of these wallets have RFID protection and some water resistance.

The Ridge Forged Ember has a lifetime warranty, while the Rogue Front Pocket wallet has a 2-year warranty.

If you would like a more premium wallet made from harder materials, then you should read my detailed Ridge Forged Ember review.

Who should not buy the Rogue Front Pocket wallet?

I wouldn’t recommend this wallet to someone that doesn’t prefer leather that much. Leather as a material is less durable than others used when making wallets, and it tends to tear or damage over time.

A group of people I wouldn’t recommend this wallet to is those who have an artsier style. The Rogue Front Pocket has a straightforward design and only two available colors. See my guide on the best-designed wallets if you want to see some different ideas for inspiration.

The wallet is quite affordable, which may not be a good choice for someone looking for a product for a more special occasion. I recommend checking out my guides on the best wallets under $200 or the best wallets under $300 for some more premium choices.

Who should buy the Rogue Front Pocket wallet?

The first person I would strongly recommend this wallet to is someone that has a lot of back pain from keeping their wallet in their back pocket. The biggest selling point of the Rogue Front Pocket wallet is that it has a patented design that makes it perfect to fit in your front pocket. Because of this, you can comfortably carry your wallet in your front pocket without worrying about your back.

Another person I think would find this wallet useful is someone that travels a lot. As I mentioned before, this wallets design makes it perfect to carry in your front pocket. When traveling to new places, tourists are often targeted by pickpockets. By carrying your wallet in your front pocket, you make it a lot harder to be a target for pickpocketing than if you were to carry it in your back pocket.

The Rogue Front Pocket wallet would also be a good fit for someone that likes to dress casually, as well as someone who likes to suit up. Because of the leather exterior, the wallet has an elegant aesthetic that would go great with a suit. The two available colors are straightforward and neutral, so they would go great with just about anything.
