Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket Wallet Review – A Futuristic Minimalist Wallet With A Slide Mechanism

This is a detailed review of the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet, a high-quality, futuristic, minimalist wallet with a slide mechanism.

Should you buy the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet?

The Dango A-Series Adapt Wallets is a hybrid of the legendary features and functionalities of several of its predecessors. It’s a one-of-a-kind wallet that combines all of the benefits of a modular Dango wallet. Its strong build and durable materials just scream premium quality. Even though it costs a little more than other minimalist wallets for men, it has a lot of cool features that make it worth the higher price.

If you are looking for a very light wallet, that has a nice feel, and a slick look, this just might be your next choice.

Buying

You can purchase this item from the official Dango website. I recommend buying it here since Afterpay allows you to pay in four interest-free installments. You’ll also be able to buy all of the exciting accessories at once.

Price and value for money

The price of this wallet is $249, which is a lot more than most minimalist wallets out there. This minimalist wallet is far from a budget option, but it does offer a lot of interesting features that justify the price. The patented slide mechanism that Dango has made is more than enough to make up for the higher price.

Shipping details

If you are ordering through the Dango website from the USA, you can get free shipping, as long as you make a purchase over $49.

Dango brand

Dango is a trusted brand that was established in 2015. All the products they make have great designs and unique features. Dango cares a lot about customer satisfaction, which is why a lot of people choose to own a Dango minimalist wallet.

Every single Dango product is exclusively manufactured in the USA.

Basics

When it comes to the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet, the build is anything but ordinary. These are some of the basics you should know to better understand this amazing minimalist wallet.

How to use the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet?

The Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet is a bit different than most minimalist wallets out there.

The first thing you need to know is that the chassis, which is the base of this wallet, has a sliding mechanism. You can add different accessories to this sliding mechanism. In our case, the accessory is the A10 Single Pocket Adapter in Jet Black Full Grain Leather. After placing the single pocket on the chassis, you can begin your basic wallet setup.

All you have to do is place your cards in the external leather pocket slot on the front and the internal chassis pocket slot on the back. If you want to carry some cash bills you can place them inside the chassis, all you have to do is slide the single pocket upward. And there you have it, your basic wallet setup is ready to go.

Unboxing

All Dango products come in consistent packaging, which I think is very nice.

The product comes in a reusable tin, with initial instructions inside that show you how to use the product. Right below the instruction manual, you will see the wallet itself and the paracord lanyard that comes with it.

On the bottom, there is a thank you card from the Dango brand with all their contact information on it.

Aesthetic and design

Dango never disappoints when it comes to making a beautiful wallet.

Design

The front of the wallet is a single-pocket accessory, made out of DTEX. Here you will see an external card slot, that has the capacity to hold 1-3 cards. At the bottom, there is a thumb push that makes accessing the cards an easy process.

It’s possible to remove the single pocket from the chassis via the railing system. The chassis slide system is an accessory capable of feature addition. It can also accommodate 1 card. Keep in mind that you can’t keep a card in there while still keeping the single-pocket accessory.

When you flip the wallet over, you will see an internal card slot, capable of carrying up to 4 cards. This side also has a quick thumb push for easier card access. There is no separation between this card slot and the cavity. So if you equip the single-pocket accessory, you can use this slot to keep cash bills.

Like all other Dango products, this wallet has attachments point for lanyards and tethers.

Colors

The Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket is made out of black leather, which is the only available color for this premium wallet.

The color palette might be limited, but the overall design of this wallet is very slick and futuristic and can easily make up for the lack of choice here.

Black goes well with everything, so this wallet shouldn’t have any trouble fitting into your wardrobe.

Materials

Dango’s A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket is, as the name suggests, primarily a titanium wallet. Titanium is the greatest metal because:

  • it’s as strong as steel but doesnt weigh as much
  • it has corrosion resistance
  • doesnt damage easily

Clothing style fit

This wallet would go well with a couple of different styles. The first that comes to mind is a business casual style, which would fit well with the wallet’s slick design. Techie guys will also love the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet, because of all the features it has to offer. And finally, hipsters would probably want to add this accessory to their wardrobe, as it does have a certain counter-culture look and feel to it.

Features

The Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet is very different from most minimalist wallets and comes with several interesting features.

Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet slide mechanism

Weight, size, dimensions

The dimension of this wallet are:

  • Height: 2.7 in / 6.858 cm
  • Width: 4.1 in / 10.414 cm
  • Depth: 0.5 in / 1.27 cm

The wallet weighs more than most minimalist wallets. On average, minimalist wallets weigh around 2.5 oz / 70 g, while the Dango T02 Titanium Tactical 3-Pocket Bifold weighs 3.7 oz / 85.05 g.

RFID blocking

Just like a few other minimalist wallets, the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket is an RFID-blocking wallet. This is something you should consider if you want to protect the access and valuable data on your cards.

The only concern with this wallet, when it comes to RFID-blocking, is the external card slot. When you place cards here, a small part of them might stick out. This could cause some problems for the RFID-blocking function.

Water Resistance

The Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet has some water resistance. Anything that you keep on the inside of the chassis should be safe since it’s enclosed.

Still, the two card slots might not handle water all too well. Even if the materials used to make this wallet are water-resistant, there are some openings through which water might slip in, like the thumb access or the exterior card slot. However, a small amount of water, such as a few drops, shouldn’t be any trouble for this particular minimalist wallet.

How many cards can the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet hold?

The recommended number of cards you can place in this wallet is 5. This is considerably less than most minimalist wallets on the market. You could try to stuff a card or two more in the wallet, but keep in mind that the front pocket is made out of leather and could tear if you overstuff it. Most owners have managed to fit 4-7 cards in their Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet.

How much cash can the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet hold?

The Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet can hold at least 2 cash bills. It can fit dollars, euros, and yen cash bills, but only if you fold them.

Customer satisfaction

There are a couple of good and bad things you should know about when it comes to what users are reporting about the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet.

Positive reviews

The slide mechanism is revolutionary. Dango has managed to make an everyday item extremely fun to use. The way this wallet is built also allows for easy customizations. By adding different accessories to the slide mechanism, you could end up with a whole new wallet.

Even if the card capacity isn’t too big, it’s more than enough to fit your everyday cards and some cash. It’s perfect for someone looking to downsize all the unnecessary things they carry in their wallet.

On top of the great build, the wallet is very lightweight. The best part is that it doesn’t get much more havier when you add your cards and cash bills to it.

The paracord lanyard is another cool feature that comes with the wallet. You have the option to choose its color, which adds a few style points.

Known issues and problems

If you think that you need to carry a lot of cards daily, you would find that this wallet isn’t the best fit for you. The card capacity falls in the lower category when compared to most minimalist wallets on the market.

This wallet wouldn’t be the best first choice for a minimalist wallet, since it’s a bit more complicated to get used to. The sliding mechanism is indeed a groundbreaking feature, but a lot different than what most people are used to. So if it’s your first time getting a minimalist wallet, an easy-to-use one that is similar to a traditional wallet might be a better fit.

The only other problem is the wallet’s sharp edges. If you usually carry your wallet in your back pocket, you might find it hard to sit on it without it being uncomfortable.

How does the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet compare to other minimalist wallets?

Here is how the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet compares to the competition, both within the Dango brand and outside of it.

Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet vs Dango D01 Dapper Bifold

The Dango D01 Dapper Bifold wallet is cheaper and can hold a lot more cards than the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet.

Both of these wallets have RFID-blocking and some water resistance, and both of them come with Dano’s lifetime warranty.

They are different in their build, and between the two the Dango D01 Dapper Bifold wallet is bigger (although it weighs less).

If you would like to know more, read my detailed Dango D01 Dapper Bifold review.

Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet vs Flipside 4

These two wallets are very different.

The Flipside 4 is a fully enclosed minimalist wallet, while the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet has a sliding chassis with addable accessories.

Both of them are made out of aluminum, but the Flipside 4 costs less and can carry more cards.

Both wallets have some water resistance and RFID-blocking.

The Flipside 4 is just a little bit bigger in dimension and weighs almost the same as the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet.

Who should not buy the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet?

You should consider another minimalist wallet if you carry a lot of cards and cash bills. The Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet doesn’t have that much card capacity. You can carry up to 7 cards and 2 cash bills with this wallet, which may not be enough for some. See my guides on the best wallets for many cards and the best wallets for cash if you need a bigger capacity.

If you want a wallet that’s simple to use, you might not like the slide mechanism on the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet. Even if it’s an amazing innovation, it could be hard to get used to.

Your first upgrade to a new minimalist wallet probably shouldn’t be the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet, especially if you are just getting used to minimalist wallets. As I mentioned before, it limits storage a lot and has a build that’s very different from most minimalist wallets.

This wallet is pretty expensive, so it wouldn’t be the best choice if you are on a budget. I recommend taking a look at my guides on the best wallets under $100 or the best wallets under $50 for some more budget-friendly options.

Lastly, if you are more into leather wallets, you shouldn’t go for the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket. Even if the single pocket is made out of leather, most of the wallet is made out of aluminum.

Who should buy the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet?

If new technology piques your interest then you will love the new sliding mechanism on this wallet. It’s exactly what sets the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet apart from the competition. As a tactical nerd, you should definitely check out this revolutionary accessory, as it is definitely one of the best tactical wallets you can find.

This is the right minimalist wallet for you if you want a premium experience. Dango is a serious company that puts a lot of detail into their products, so they are more than qualified to give you the best possible experience, both when purchasing and when using your minimalist wallet every day.

Business and casual clothing will fit perfectly with the Dango A10 Adapt Titanium Single Pocket wallet’s aesthetic. It will have no trouble becoming a part of your outfit the next time you wear a suit.

If you carry a small number of cards and cash in your wallet every day, then this minimalist wallet is the best choice for you. Unlike other minimalist wallets, it limits storage space quite a lot, so you can only carry the things you need the most.

Finally, if you don’t like leather wallets, then this aluminum minimalist wallet will be the perfect choice for you. Not only does it have a strong build, but it’s also lightweight and durable.
